Preparing for Worship
All of our Sundays are special, but this Sunday the choir will be performing a Cantata, “Invitation to a Miracle” for both services. We are in for a special treat!!! Our sermon series continues on the “Lights of Advent” with the lighting of the second candle representing “Love”. The scripture is from Matthew 1:18-25.
Please read and prepare your hearts for worship.

The Children’s Christmas Program
The children are working hard as they continue their practice at 9:30 on Sunday morning. The last 2 practice dates for the Christmas program are this Wednesday, December 13th at 6pm and this Saturday, December 16th at 10am.  The children will share what they have prepared at the 11am service on December 17th.

Some props are needed !!:

If you have a portable fireplace, a large area rug, a small table, and a rocking chair could we borrow it? Please contact Hannah Wittenberg if you can help us out (Hannah@1stumc.org)

Angel Tree
If you chose an “Angel tree” card, remember the gifts should be wrapped and labeled with the red card and returned to the church by December 10. When you bring your gift(s) to the church, please put a check mark beside your name in the book in the return column. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful participation.

The orders for poinsettias are due this Sunday, Dec 10th.We invite you to participate in decorating the Sanctuary for Advent and Christmas by purchasing a poinsettia(s) in honor or memory of someone. The cost is $10.00 per plant. The ushers will have the envelopes or you can pick up one in the back of the sanctuary. Place completed envelopes in the offering plate or give to Vicki Lanham. Plants may be picked up after the Christmas eve service.

Attention all Youth:
We are having an Andover Youth Christmas party at the Mulders’ house on Friday, December 15 at 5pm!  There will be dinner, games, caroling, a Christmas movie, and more!  You won’t want to miss it!  Save the date!

ANDOVER FUMC STAFF LOVE OFFERING

God has given Andover FUMC a staff that pours devotion, theology, warmth, knowledge, truth and integrity into our Church.  The love that these 10 individuals have for us runs deep within their hearts and provide us with what we need on a weekly basis.  They GIVE their all to us.

It is time for our church family to give back to the staff of Andover during this Christmas season and thank them for their loyalty, labor and love.
