Redemption House is a faith-based transitional living home for women in recovery from addiction. They are currently seeking mentors to walk with a woman, for a year, as she journeys through the recovery process.   Also, they are in need of gently used chest-of-drawers for residents.   If you are interested in learning more about Redemption House, we would love to have you join us for a cookout at the house on Sunday, May 1, at 4pm.   Contact Mary Aycock (859.537.6430 or maycock@hospicebg.org) or Cindy Buck from the Downtown Campus (859.224.4023) if you would like to know more.
Attention golfers!  1st UMC 9 hole golf league will begin on Thursday May 12 and every Thursday evening through September 8.   The league is open to men and women of all ages and skill levels, members and friends of First Church.   We handicap your score so all players have equal opportunity to win weekly and for the season.  We will play at Picadome Golf Course on Harrodsburg Road.  First tee time is 5:18 pm.  Last tee time is 5:52.  You do not have to play every week to participate.   This is the third year for the league and a fun time is had by all.  To sign up or formore information contact Dulaney Wood at dwood007@aol.com

Common GoodHelp Serve
Common Good , which is a part of Embrace, has asked us to help with the Thursday summer program meals.  This is a six week summer program and runs from June 6 to July 14.  Tom Eblen  is the point of contact and can help with most Thursdays but will be out June 9 and July 14.  Please check your calendars and see if those Thursdays are available.  If enough of us can help, it would be three sessions or less for each of us. The time frame will be from 11:30 to 1:30.
ALL of the students gather at 12:30 to eat lunch  together.  It’s our understanding we will be serving chicken breasts, mac and cheese, etc.

craft fair

Early Notice
November 6 has been set for our 2016 Fall Festival and Crafts Fair hosted by the Rachel Circle. The goal this year is to help fund
appliances for our new kitchen! You are invited to participate by submitting your unique crafts or other donations to help make this a success. Last year we started very late in the year. We want to make it even better by giving you more time.
In addition to the crafts, silent auction and mystery gifts, there will be chili, soup and desserts to enjoy for a small fee. Please start thinking and preparing things now and be ready to join in the fun on
Nov. 6.
