A new Church Pictorial Directory is coming! Signup now—-
Life touch Family Photography will be taking photos for our Church Directory from September 29 thru October 10. It is simple to schedule your photo session. Log-on to our church website: www.1stumc.org. Click on the link “Sign up for a photo session at Andover Campus” and follow the prompts. Each family receives a complimentary 8×10 portrait and a directory for participating!
To remove any confusion, this is totally separate from the “homemade” pictorial directory we have done at Andover in the past. We need everyone to participate to make it a complete directory. It isn’t for members only, it is for everyone!
Hosts needed: We need volunteers to work as hosts during the photography sessions at Andover. Volunteers will need to commit to a 2-3 hour shift during which they will check families in as they arrive for their portraits and verify their contact information. Sign-up sheets are at the table in the back or contact Vicki Lanham, 608-0563, email@example.com.
Sunday School class – Christian History made Easy
Join the Sentinel Sunday School class beginning this Sunday as they kick-off a new study entitled “Christian History Made Easy”. The 12 sessions cover 2,000 years of events and topics from early church history, monasticism, medieval conflicts, the Protestant Reformation, the Great Awakening through modernity. All are welcome! Contact Dick Dedic at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.

Andover Website Updates
If you haven’t been to our church website lately (andover.1stumc.org) you will be in for a pleasant surprise. The site is now a portal for all of our points of connection on the web and a great resource for people new to Andover. Check it out.
Interested in Tutoring?
I would like to invite `people to get involved in the Woodhill Tutoring program. We serve 1st. through 5th. grade students from Breckinridge Elementary School. on Mon. – Thursday. from 2:45 – 4:30. We ask volunteers to choose ONE of these days and hopefully they will tutor the same one to two students all through the year. This allows the tutor to build a good relationship with the student and the parent (or other adult) who picks up the student. A very good working relationship is established with the school social worker and teachers who refer the student and they are grateful for this kind of support. If you are interested call Kathie Beach at 299-4227 or send an email to email@example.com for more information.
Ministry opportunities that need you
1) How about being a “grace bearer”. This means that once a month you take communion to one of our home bound members. The sacraments and liturgy sheets are provided.
2) How about participating in the flower ministry? If 4 people volunteer, this would also be once per month at the most with at least one person taking the lead.
3) How about being part of a team that straightens the sanctuary each week?
These are a few of our immediate needs at Andover. If you are interested in any of these, even if you want to just try for awhile, please contact Vicki Lanham – firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-0563.
September 27th is Andover’s anniversary celebration. We would like to have homemade ice cream….
Does anyone have an ice cream maker? If so, contact Vicki Lanaham. 608-0563. email@example.com
